Probably the most famous Japanese dish after sushi - ramen is now also known all over the world. There are countless variations and recipes for the soup itself, and every region in Japan has their own version. The most known versions are tonkotsu-ramen, made from pig bones, shoyu-ramen made from soy sauce, and miso-ramen made using miso. Our recipe here is for tonkotsu-ramen, as that is our favourite. For 2 people you need:
1 pack of Nagahama Yatai Ramen (or Hakata Ramen if you want a richer taste)
900 ml of water
4 slices of Char Siu
2 pieces of Nitamago
1 sheet of Yakinori
3-4 thinly sliced spring onions
Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Add the noodles from the pack and let them boil for 2.5 minute:
Turn off the heat and add the soup mix:
Place the noodles and the soup in two large bowl. Fold the yakinori sheet a few times and break it into smaller pieces. Place Char Siu, halved eggs, yakinori and spring onions on top of the noodles and serve. Enjoy!
Naturally, for a day when you just want a quick and easy meal, you can just cook the noodles in the pack by themselves - they still make for a great meal, it's just the "light" version. We recommend making the real version once in a while!
